On 4 December 2026, the Catalan Institute of Oncology (ICO), in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO), will host the 8th ICO-WHO Symposium on Tobacco Control. This landmark event will bring together health professionals, researchers, policymakers and other leading experts to examine the most pressing challenges and emerging developments in tobacco prevention and control.

Under the theme The evolving nicotine landscape: from products and promotion to policy and implementation, this eighth edition will explore the rapidly changing landscape of nicotine products, the marketing and promotional strategies shaping their uptake, and the challenges these developments present for the design, implementation and evaluation of effective tobacco control policies.
